UNMF Urges Kisoro Musicians to Unite for Growth and International Recognition
Officials from the Uganda National Musicians Association have urged Kisoro musicians to unite and cooperate by joining the Greater Kigezi Musicians Association Limited to benefit from government programs and promote their music internationally.
This message was conveyed during a meeting of all Kisoro musicians, DJs, music producers, MCs, songwriters, and media practitioners facilitated by the Greater Kigezi Musicians Association (KIGA) at Bamboo Gardens in Kisoro Municipality.
The Coordinator of the Uganda National Musician Federation (UNMF) Western Region, Ezra Agaba, commonly known as CJ Champion, called on Kisoro musicians to join the Federation for networking opportunities, professional development, and career advancement.
Agaba further revealed that the association would help Kisoro musicians by enhancing job prospects, providing mentorship, and connecting them with industry leaders and potential collaborators.
The Chairperson of the Greater Kigezi Musicians Association, Shine Nyonyozi, also known as Shine Omukiga, called on Kisoro musicians to unite and cooperate with music producers, promoters, DJs, and radio presenters to achieve their goals and objectives in music. Shine noted that unity would lead to credibility, enhance reputation, and provide access to resources, marketing, advocacy, and industry updates.
Mbonigaba JohnKing, who was appointed as the interim Coordinator of mental health in the Greater Kigezi Musicians Association Limited, encouraged musicians to join the association for community building and financial support through loans from the association’s SACCO, which would help improve their livelihoods.
