Bosmic Otim Threatens Bobi And Dares Him To Ever Step In Northern Uganda
Bosmic Otim, a prominent figure in Northern Uganda, has issued a stern warning to opposition leader Bobi Wine, stating that he is unwelcome in the region. At a local rally last weekend, Otim made it clear that any attempts by Bobi Wine to visit Northern Uganda would be met with hostility. He has threatened to mobilize local youths to confront Bobi Wine if he enters the area.
Otim, once a key mobilizer for Bobi Wine's National Unity Platform (NUP) and People Power movement in Northern Uganda, expressed his dissatisfaction with the opposition leader. He accused Bobi Wine of neglecting the region during its times of need and prioritizing his own tribe's interests. Otim recalled the days when the Acholi people were suffering in IDP camps and pointed out that neither NUP nor People Power were present to assist.
During is speech, Otim claimed that Bobi Wine's agenda does not align with the interests of the Acholi people. He stated that everything Bobi Wine does is for his own tribe, which has fueled resentment in the region. Otim's anger stems from past experiences, where he felt abandoned by Bobi Wine during his own political struggles.
Otim's fallout with Bobi Wine became evident when he switched allegiance to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) in 2024. This came after Otim spent two years on the run due to accusations of illegal firearm possession. President Yoweri Museveni personally welcomed Otim back to Uganda, promising to investigate the security forces responsible for his alleged mistreatment.
Otim held Bobi Wine accountable for his political downfall, accusing the opposition leader of being a "user" who exploited him for political gain. He recounted how he risked his life for the movement, only to be abandoned when government security forces targeted him. Otim expressed disappointment that while he faced persecution, Bobi Wine was traveling the world instead of offering support.
The tension between Otim and Bobi Wine highlights the deep-rooted issues within Uganda’s political landscape. With Otim's warning echoing across Northern Uganda, the region remains on edge, reflecting the complexities of political alliances and betrayals that continue to shape the country's future
