Peter Andre 'freaked out' over ghostly presence in recording studio

Popstar Peter Andre has revealed that he once had an unexplainable - and possibly paranormal - encounter when he was renovating an old building in Australia with his brother

Peter isn't sure what to believe after his ghostly encounter

Peter Andre says he was left "really freaked out" after hearing a musical instrument being played but discovering there was no-one in the room to play it. The Mysterious Girl singer, who turns 52 next week, was renovating a beach resort he used to own with his dad, Savvas, back in his native Australia, when the scary incident occurred.

As part of the building worsk, Peter and his brother Chris were transforming an unused space in the basement into a recording studio, and it was here that the pair heard the spooky sounds. Chatting to OK! about Danny Robins' BBC podcast-turned-TV show Uncanny, which delves into all things paranormal, Pete said: "I think it's an interesting subject. I don't know whether I believe or not but I've had some weird experiences, and I can't quite say what they were".

He continued: "I had a strange experience at the beach resort my dad and I used to own in Australia. It had a basement that I was turning into a recording studio with my brother Chris. One day, he was playing his guitar down there and then he came upstairs to talk to me. No-one was at the resort that day but us, and it was locked.

"All of a sudden we heard the violin playing. We went down and saw the violin plugged in, and the guitar placed somewhere else, and no-one was there. We were really freaked out."

Pete isn't the only famous face to have had a ghostly encounter. TOWIE star Joey Essex once claimed he'd been visited by a ghost at home, and it "was just sitting next to me. Trying to talk to me about life!".

Blue's Duncan James, 46, also once recalled that as a young boy growing up in rural Devon, he saw what looked like the ghostly figure of an old lady walking towards him as he set for school from his moped.

Daisy May Cooper

Daisy is a firm believer in the all things paranormal

Another big celebrity believer is actress and comedian Daisy May Cooper, who appeared as a special guest on Danny Robins' podcast version of Uncanny.

The Am I Being Unreasonable star called him in to help her get to the bottom of a number of strange occurrences at her new-build Wiltshire home, including large paintings being taken off walls, shadowy figures seen by various family members, and showers turning on by themselves at night.

"My whole life, all I've ever wanted is to see a ghost, and gone looking for it, " she shared. "I'd gone to sort of like paranormal ghost hunts and abandoned castles, never having any experience. I wanted to see a ghost so much until it actually happened to me, and it's quite frightening. It's the questions it leaves you with."
