Chief Whip Hamson Obua Sends a Bold Message to Museveni Regarding Respect of the Constitution

Chief Whip Hamson Obua has called on Ugandans, including government officials, to uphold the Constitution and respect their civic duties to prevent the country from descending into political turmoil.

Chief Whip Hamson Obua’s remarks happens amid rising political tensions, with concerns over governance and constitutional adherence taking center stage.

Addressing the nation, Hamson Obua emphasized the importance of cooperation and following constitutional guidelines.

He warned that failure to do so could lead to instability, urging both leaders and citizens to act responsibly.

“The moment we fail to cooperate, that is when we degenerate into what we are seeing,” he stated.

Hamson Obua highlighted that the framers of Uganda’s Constitution had foreseen such challenges and provided clear guidelines on the responsibilities of citizens.

He insisted that exercising constitutional rights, duties, and obligations should not be taken lightly.

“May we also exercise our constitutional rights, duties, and obligations to the dot of what the Constitution calls upon us to do as citizens of Uganda,” he urged.

With the opposition raising concerns over human rights violations and electoral integrity, Obua’s call for constitutional adherence may signal internal frustrations within the ruling party.
