Sad Story As Police Officer Smuggles Teenage Suspect Out of Cell to His Home

Police in Kamuli have arrested one of their officers on allegations of defiling a 16-year-old girl who was in their custody. This shocking incident occurred while another police officer in Old Kampala was accused of defiling a different teenager.

According to Busoga North Police spokesperson Michael Kasadha, the victim is a pupil at Kisozi Primary School in Kamuli District. It is reported that on the night of September 21, the girl’s mother, Rehema Nabirye, took her to Kisozi Police Post for counselling after the girl had been refusing to attend school and had run away from home for several days.

Kasadha explained, "Police and the mother agreed to keep her in custody to prevent her from disappearing again." However, that same night, Sergeant Constant Mukasa allegedly sneaked the girl out of her cell and took her to his room, where he sexually abused her.

The following day, the mother brought the girl home, where she shared her distressing experience. The mother then reported the incident to the Officer-in-Charge of the Police Post, leading to legal action for aggravated defilement against Mukasa.

The scene of the crime was examined and documented, and Sergeant Mukasa has been arrested and is currently detained at Kamuli Central Police Station while investigations continue.

This incident follows the recent arrest of Corporal Cuthbert Emiti, who was caught in the act of having sex with a 15-year-old girl at Old Kampala Police Station. It was alleged that on the same date, a police officer was called by the girl, who said her friend was locked in a shelter with another officer.

When two police officers arrived at the scene, they confirmed the girl’s claims. One officer arrested Emiti, while the victim was taken for a medical examination. Sadly, the examination revealed that the victim was HIV-positive, while the officer tested negative.

A case of aggravated defilement has been registered under CRB 2323/2024 at Old Kampala Police Division, and the investigation is ongoing. The suspect is currently being held at Old Kampala Police Station.
