Ugandan Businessman Shot & Killed During Armed Robbery, See What Really Happened
A terrible incident occurred on the night of August 13, 2025, along Nangabo Road in Kitagobwa, leaving a community in shock. Around 10:00 p.m., masked men pretending to be customers attacked a local business, demanding money from the owner and employees. During the scuffle, 51-year-old businessman Bwanika Deo was shot and killed, while one of the workers, Julius, was injured in the leg as he tried to stop the attackers.
The six suspects, armed with guns and pangas, quickly grabbed an undisclosed sum of money before fleeing the scene on two waiting motorcycles. Their sudden and violent actions left the business and its workers traumatized. The local police were quick to respond, securing the area, recording statements from witnesses, and taking the body to Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Kasangati Police Division has launched a full investigation into the murder and robbery. Authorities are working tirelessly to trace the attackers, but no arrests have been made so far. The incident has raised serious concerns about safety in the area, highlighting the dangers faced by small business owners and workers in their communities
