Ssemujju Grows Fear in NUP as He Reveals Mpuuga’s Huge Plan to Help Museveni Win By Landslide
Hon. Ssemujju Nganda has raised critical concerns regarding Uganda’s political trajectory ahead of the 2026 elections.
Speaking at a public event, the legislator painted a grim picture of how political decisions are often dictated by the whims of powerful individuals rather than the interests of citizens.
Ssemujju pointed out that legislative proposals introduced by certain members of parliament are more likely to be approved if they align with President Museveni’s preferences.
“My view is that he will table it, and it will be discussed. If it pleases his master, then it will be passed,” he stated.
His comments have sparked concerns within opposition circles, particularly the National Unity Platform (NUP), about the increasing centralization of power and the implications for democracy in Uganda.
Ssemujju further questioned the accountability of legislators to their constituencies, suggesting that many MPs prioritize pleasing the president over addressing the needs of their electorates.
“At this point, we can only ask ourselves whether his electorates will bring him back or if it’s time for a new person to step into the seat,” he added.
The remarks come as opposition parties strategize for the 2026 elections, seeking to counter Museveni’s well-oiled political machinery.
Even as the country inches closer to the next electoral cycle, the question remains whether Ugandans will demand greater accountability from their leaders or allow the status quo to persist.
