Museveni Celebrates Karugire-Natasha 25th Wedding Anniversary

President Museveni and First Lady Janet Kataaha Museveni have marked the silver jubilee of their daughter Natasha Karugire’s marriage to lawyer and businessman Edwin Karugire.

In a statement released on Sunday, Museveni said he and the First Lady were “happy to celebrate the 25-year wedding anniversary” of the couple, thanking God for keeping them together and blessing them with children and good health.

“We praised God for joining them together, for keeping them together and for blessing them with children and health. We commend them on this journey of marriage and wish them God’s continued blessings,” Museveni noted.

Natasha, one of the First Family’s four children, is a filmmaker and author who has been involved in several historical and cultural documentary projects, including 27 Guns, which depicts the National Resistance Army’s bush war.

Karugire married Natasha in 2000.

Karugire, a senior partner at Kiryowa Karugire Advocates, is a well-known corporate lawyer and has represented high-profile clients in Uganda.

Their silver jubilee celebration underscores what Museveni described as a testament to “the blessings of family and the grace of God in sustaining marriage.”
