Ugandans Urge Museveni to Save BMK's Business Empire

The late Hajji Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige (BMK) was a businessman in Uganda. He built a strong business empire, including Hotel Africana, which expanded to different parts of Africa. Since his passing, his businesses are facing financial difficulties, with debts threatening their survival.

BMK played a key role in Uganda’s economy. His businesses provided jobs and opportunities for many people.

Hotel Africana in Moroto, for example, improved the area's appearance and created employment for local youth. The hotel also supported education by sponsoring students. If these businesses collapse, the economic growth of the region could suffer, and many people could lose their livelihoods.

The BMK Group has a debt of Shs 10 billion, and some Ugandans are asking President Yoweri Museveni to help save it.

Joel Locuge, a trader from Moroto, has urged the government to intervene, pointing out that the president has previously supported other business leaders. Locuge believes that with government support, BMK’s businesses can recover and continue to serve the country.

BMK’s businesses have greatly contributed to Uganda’s development. Many people believe that the government should step in to prevent their collapse.

Supporting the BMK Group would protect jobs, promote investment, and ensure that BMK’s contribution to Uganda’s economy is not forgotten.
