Japan Donates Emergency Vehicles to Uganda to Boost Medical and Fire Response

The Government of Japan has donated a fleet of emergency vehicles, including ambulances and firefighting trucks, to support Uganda’s emergency and medical response efforts.

This initiative aims to strengthen disaster management and healthcare services across the country.

Announcing the development, Health minister Jane Ruth Aceng highlighted its significance.

“Today, we received a fleet of emergency vehicles including ambulances and firefighting trucks to enhance emergency and medical response in Uganda,” Dr Aceng said.

She also expressed gratitude to Japan, saying, “On behalf of the Ministry of Health, I would like to extend my appreciation to the Government and People of Japan for their support.”

The additional vehicles come at a critical time when Uganda is working to strengthen its emergency response infrastructure.

Challenges such as limited ambulances and delayed medical interventions have affected service delivery, particularly in remote areas.

This donation is expected to bridge some of these gaps, ensuring faster and more efficient emergency services across the country.
