"I Want to Die in Uganda" – Chilling Last Words of Norwegian Before Death Emerges

New details have come to light about the final moments of Robert Hausvik, a Norwegian national who was found dead in his rented house in Walukuba, Jinja City, on March 10.
According to neighbors, Hausvik and his girlfriend, Nabatanzi, were seen together the night before his death.
Brenda Nabasirye, a resident living nearby, recalled hearing an argument between the couple and a boda boda rider outside their house.
The disagreement was about high transport charges after the couple returned from Bourbon Bar, a popular hangout in Jinja.
Nabasirye said she saw Hausvik push the boda boda rider against the fence before entering the house with Nabatanzi. Once inside, she overheard Hausvik say, "I am going to kill myself, and I want to die in Uganda, but I love you."
Hausvik, who had lived in Jinja for some time, was well-known and even had a local nickname—Katongole. Many described him as a kind and generous person, especially towards children. He was also an excellent cook.
Abdul Majid Opaala, a real estate agent who had rented the house to Hausvik and Nabatanzi, was shocked by the sudden death.
The couple had only moved into the house a week earlier, paying three months’ rent upfront. They had even asked Opaala to find them another space to start a business.
Hausvik, a tattoo enthusiast, had numerous tattoos on his body, including a large Liverpool Football Club logo on his chest. He was a passionate Liverpool fan and had even bought a Liverpool jersey for Nabasirye’s son.
Now, his family is struggling to raise enough money to transport his body back to Norway for burial.
His sudden death has left many questions unanswered, and those who knew him are still coming to terms with the tragic news.
