Harry Styles leaves fans stunned as he's spotted at Pope’s first address at the Vatican

Harry Styles was seen among the crowds in Vatican City on Thursday as Pope Leo XIV made his first public remarks after becoming the 267th pontiff - and the first American pope in history.
The three-time Grammy winner, 31, kept a low profile in Rome, dressed in a blue coat he’s been spotted wearing before, black sunglasses and a grey baseball cap that read ‘Techno is my boyfriend.’
Despite his A-list status, Styles appeared to blend into the crowd during the historic moment in St. Peter’s Square.
Fans quickly took to social media to share their shock and delight at spotting the former One Direction star at such a monumental event.
One person wrote on X: “Harry Styles is so random. One day he’s at the Grammys, then he’s running a marathon in Japan… now he’s in Rome waiting for the new pope. I love being his fan.”
Another joked: “Can’t believe the new pope got a glimpse of Harry Styles on his first day of the new job.”
It’s not known whether Styles was in the city specifically for the occasion or simply passing through, but his presence didn’t go unnoticed.
This isn’t the first time Harry Styles has popped up in an unexpected place.
In March, he surprised fans by running the Tokyo Marathon, and he’s also been spotted recently in Berlin.
Also in March, the singer was seen in Rome with Valentino’s creative director, Alessandro Michele - a sighting that quickly sparked rumours of a potential collaboration, especially given their past working relationship during Michele’s tenure at Gucci.

Elsewhere, Pope Leo XIV addressed the crowd from St. Peter’s Basilica on Thursday, just days after the conclusion of a two-day papal conclave.
In a message urging hope and unity, he said: “God loves us. God loves you all. And evil will not prevail. We are all in the hands of God.”
He added: “Help us too, then, each other, to build bridges — with dialogue, with encounter — uniting all of us to be one people, always in peace.”
The 69-year-old became the 267th to hold the title of spiritual leader of the Roman Catholic Church. Leo XIV is the first pontiff from North America and only the second non-European pope in over a millennium.
A member of the 13th century Augustinian religious order, Prevost has spent nearly his entire adult life ministering in Peru and is widely seen as a unifying figure for traditionalists and moderates.

He was born on September 14, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, to Louis Marius Prevost, of French and Italian descent, and Mildred Martínez, of Spanish descent.
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics at Villanova University, Pennsylvania in 1977, Prevost decided to become a priest and joined the Order of St. Augustine that same year.
He was ordained in 1982 and earned a Licentiate of Canon Law in 1984, as well as a Doctor of Canon Law degree in 1987, from Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, Rome.
It was in 1985 that Prevost moved to Peru, where he became a missionary, teacher and parish priest
