A delegation of African-American development partners from the Afreeka Exodus Foundation has expressed commitment to contributing to Uganda’s economic development.

Led by Dr. Larry Wells, Sydney Nicholas, and Markeeta Starr, the team met with Ambassador Abbey Walusimbi, Senior Presidential Advisor on Diaspora Affairs.

Walusimbi emphasized President Museveni’s vision of unity and solidarity among Africans worldwide.

“President Yoweri Museveni has on several occasions encouraged the Black Americans to consider returning to the African continent and has put up a number of incentives that would attract them to settle in Uganda as well as setting up several investments,” stated Abbey Walusimbi.

He highlighted the potential for African Americans to transfer their skills, knowledge, and expertise to Uganda, reducing the country’s dependence on Western expatriates through dual citizenship.

The African-American delegation aims to promote self-sufficiency, protection, and uplifting of African diasporas worldwide.

“By establishing a community of African Americans in Uganda, there’s a guaranteed total transformation of Uganda’s economy through the transfer of solid skills and expertise,” stated Abbey Walusimbi.

The delegation reaffirmed their commitment to Uganda’s economic transformation, citing the country’s infinite business and investment possibilities.

“This initiative aims to coordinate hundreds of Pan-African Americans annually, promoting investment opportunities and relocation to Uganda,” stated Larry Wells.

In a similar development, a separate delegation of African-American investors led by Mark Anthony Hernandez pledged to invest $300 million (approximately Shs1.1 trillion) in Uganda’s health and real estate sectors, focusing on neurosurgery, commercial, and residential estates.
