"I Was Taking It to Kampala To Sell It To Witch Doctors," Man Arrested in With Friend’s Head Reveals

Police in Nakasongola District have arrested a man identified as John Isoke for the gruesome murder and beheading of his friend, allegedly for ritual purposes.Isoke was caught while attempting to flee with the severed head wrapped in a brown polythene bag.
The arrest occurred in Kyandigita-Bujumbula Village, Nabiswera Sub-county, where shocked residents intercepted him following a tip-off.
According to Savannah Region Police Spokesperson SP Sam Twiineamazima, the discovery was made early Tuesday morning after Ketty Namuga, a farm manager and Isoke’s former employer, found her employee, Herbert Ameir, lying dead and decapitated.
Namuga, who had gone to the farm with a newly hired worker, noticed Isoke acting suspiciously near the crime scene. As they approached, he attempted to flee.
Namuga raised an alarm, prompting local residents to chase him down. Isoke dropped the bag during the pursuit and was eventually caught and handed over to Migyera Police Station.
Upon interrogation, Isoke confessed to murdering Ameir and said he was on his way to Kisenyi in Kampala to sell the head to ritual practitioners. He admitted that he believed he could earn a substantial sum of money from the act.
Police recovered a blood-stained panga near the victim’s body, believed to be the weapon used in the murder. The motive is suspected to be tied to ritualistic practices, which have become a growing concern in parts of Uganda.
Investigations are ongoing at Nakasongola Police Station to determine whether Isoke acted alone or if he was part of a larger criminal network involved in human sacrifice.
Authorities are also seeking to establish whether there are other victims or planned attacks connected to this case.
The incident has sparked outrage and fear among local residents, with many calling for heightened community vigilance and stronger action against ritual murders.
This is not the first time Nakasongola has been rocked by bizarre and violent crimes. In recent months, the district has witnessed several shocking incidents, including large-scale theft, defilement, and armed robberies, prompting calls for enhanced police presence in the region.
Police have assured the public that justice will be served and have urged citizens to report any suspicious activities that may be linked to ritual practices or organized crime
