25 Police Officers Graduate With Master’s Degrees, Strengthening Uganda’s Security Leadership
A total of 25 police officers have successfully graduated with Master of Arts degrees in Security and Strategic Studies at Nkumba University’s 27th Graduation Ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the professional development of Uganda’s law enforcement leadership.
The graduates include some of the country’s top police leaders, such as CP Polly Namaye, the Head of Peace Support Operations; CP Kusemererwa James, Commandant of Land Protection Police; CP Manzi David, Commandant of the VIP Protection Unit; CP Walwanga Michael, Commandant of Environmental Police; and Tumugumye Godwin, Head of the Anti-Narcotics Department. Their academic achievements reflect both dedication to personal growth and commitment to strengthening the security sector.
In addition, CP Acaye Philip, the Commandant of Agricultural Police, earned a Master’s in Diplomacy and Global Studies, showing the police force’s increasing focus on diverse areas of governance and international relations. These advanced degrees equip officers with the skills and knowledge needed to address modern security challenges effectively.
The Uganda Police Force was represented at the ceremony by @bamunoba24, the Force’s Chief Political Commissar, highlighting the institution’s strong support for continued education and professional development within its ranks.
Graduating with these advanced degrees not only recognizes the individual achievements of these officers but also strengthens the broader capacity of Uganda’s police force. By combining academic expertise with field experience, these leaders are better positioned to improve public safety, enforce the law efficiently, and contribute to national and regional security initiatives.
