Police Arrest Four Suspects in Separate Cattle Theft and Robbery Operations in Kampala
Police in Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) South have arrested four suspects in two separate operations targeting cattle theft and aggravated robbery, recovering stolen property and cash in the process.
On March 7th, 2026, a joint operation by the police, UPDF, and local community members in Kasanje Town Council led to the recovery of a white-spotted heifer belonging to Mr. Sserwagi Augustine. Zimbwe Ramathan, a resident of Kyengera, was arrested and is now facing charges of cattle theft at Kasanje Police Station.
In another operation on 9th March 2026, three men—Acram Sekitoleko, Robert Oluka, and Bashir Mbazira—were apprehended after breaking into the home of Patrick Kagenda Amooti and his father, Prof. Charles Kagenda Atwooki, in Kabaale B Ward, Katabi Town Council. The suspects had stolen Shs 570,000 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 10 but were caught hiding in the ceiling. Police recovered the phone and Shs 240,000 from the suspects.
Investigations into both cases are ongoing. Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer of KMP, commended the community for its cooperation, which contributed significantly to the successful arrests.
