Kiboga Businessman Arrested Over Defilement of Two Minors

Police in Wamala Region have arrested a 39-year-old businessman from Kiboga District following allegations that he defiled two juvenile sisters over a period of two months.

The victims, aged 12 and 8, are from Nkokonjeru in Lwamata Town Council, Kiboga District.

According to Wamala Region Police Spokesperson SSP Lameck Kigozi, the allegations came to light on July 2, 2026, after the younger child developed health complications, prompting her mother to seek an explanation.

“The eight-year-old disclosed that she had been defiled by their neighbour. She further revealed that the abuse had been occurring since May 2026,” SSP Kigozi said.

Police said the mother later spoke to the elder child, who also allegedly reported abuse by the same suspect.

The mother reported the matter to Lwamata Police Station, leading detectives to open a case of aggravated defilement and begin investigations.

SSP Kigozi said police have since verified the children’s ages, conducted medical examinations, and recorded statements from witnesses as part of the investigation.

The suspect, a businessman and resident of Nkokonjeru A Cell, is being held at Kiboga Central Police Station.

“Investigations into the case are ongoing. The suspect will be produced before court after the Resident State Attorney in Kiboga sanctions charges of aggravated defilement,” SSP Kigozi said.

Police have urged parents, guardians, and community members to remain vigilant in protecting children and to report suspected cases of abuse promptly.

SSP Kigozi warned that sexual offences against children are serious crimes under Ugandan law and urged the public to support efforts to prevent child abuse and ensure that suspects face due legal process.
