The territorial police of Iganga, in collaboration with the Central Police Station (CPS) Kampala, have apprehended an additional suspect involved in impersonation.
The 22-year-old suspect, arrested on Friday 10th July, 2026 has been identified as Kisambira Ali, a resident of Nampirika A village, Bukaye Parish, Nakalama Sub County, in Iganga District.
The suspect has been utilizing the Hajji Yasin Foundation to perpetrate online fraud against Ugandans.
Busoga East Police Spokesperson, ASP Kasadha Michael said that upon conducting a search and subsequent interrogation, it was established that the suspect was in possession of a Samsung A05 mobile phone containing eight active TikTok accounts under usernames namely, Ssentongoyasin46, Sengasarahonunylil, Sengasarah294, Sengasarah754, Natasha2026kar, Natashakarugile6, Namerejustine7, Sengasahara2.
The suspect is currently in custody at Iganga CPS, pending transfer to CPS Kampala, where the case was originally reported.
Police said that efforts are ongoing to ensure that all individuals involved in online scams are apprehended.
Additionally, a program has been developed to raise public awareness to prevent individuals from falling victim to such schemes.
