Zari Hassan, Sons Win Court Battle Over Late Ivan Ssemwanga’s Estate
South African-based Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan and her children have won a court case involving the estate of her late ex-husband, businessman Ivan Ssemwanga.
At the start of the week, Zari appeared with two of her sons to listen to the ruling and settle the legal battle that has been going on for years. The Family Court ruled that the estate of the late Ivan Ssemwanga will belong to his children and their mother, Zari Hassan, following an amicable agreement between Zari and Ivan’s brothers.
The parties resolved the matter peacefully, bringing the long-standing dispute regarding the estate administration to an end with no further conflict.
Ivan Ssemwanga was one of the celebrated flashy money spenders in town. He unfortunately breathed his last in 2017 at Steve Biko Hospital in Pretoria after battling heart complications. Since then, his family and Zari had found themselves embroiled in a bitter feud over Ivan Ssemwanga’s property.
Before his demise, Ivan Semwanga had established multiple ventures, including numerous educational institutions in South Africa.

Pinto Ntale, the late Ivan Semwanga, and Zari Hassan’s eldest son, was named the official heir of the former’s property.
Zari Hassan has since been the property custodian, grooming her sons to bear factors that enable them to run the businesses.
