Gen Muhoozi Warns Ugandans Not to Ignore His Jokes, Says “I’m Always Serious About What I Say”

Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has sparked debate online after warning that his humorous social media posts often carry serious messages.

The army chief said people should not dismiss his statements as mere jokes because he usually means what he says.

“You all know me by now. Things start here with jokes, and we have a good laugh. But I’m always serious about what I say,” Gen Muhoozi said.

His remarks followed comments about women’s appearance, where he suggested that action would one day be taken over what he described as the “nyashless women” issue, without explaining what action he meant.

“The day will come when action is taken,” he stated.

The comments have drawn mixed reactions, with some praising his unique communication style while others questioned whether personal appearance should be a public issue.

Gen Muhoozi, who is known for making bold statements on social media, also described Ugandans as “the true children of Almighty God” who are expected to represent perfection.

His latest remarks have renewed discussions about humour, public leadership, and the influence of statements made by high-ranking officials.
