Morgan Rogers set for Chelsea medical as £117m deal agreed in hammer blow to Arsenal

Chelsea have agreed a £117million fee with Aston Villa for Morgan Rogers, who will undergo a medical on Monday.

The versatile midfielder, who is currently with the England squad at the World Cup, was expected to leave Villa summer, with Arsenal making him their priority transfer target.

But it is Chelsea who the player is said to havereportedly lured by the prospect of playing for new Blues manager Xabi Alonso.

Rogers is expected to sign a six-year deal, with Chelsea holding the option for a further 12 months.
