Olanya Calls For Peace As Court Grants Bosmic UGX 2M Cash Bail

Kilak South MP Hon. Gilbert Olanya has welcomed the court’s decision to grant musician Bosmic Otim cash bail of UGX 2 million.

Speaking to journalists after the bail ruling, Olanya said he met with KD Kristo and his family on Monday upon returning from Kampala and urged them to embrace peace.

"This issue is small. When matters like this come up, it is important that we sit down and resolve them. Running to court and imprisoning someone only brings hatred," Olanya said.

He added that when the hearing begins on August 4, 2026, he will ask court to allow Bosmic and KD Kristo to settle their matter out of court.

"The court has decided to grant cash bail of UGX 2 million. The most important thing is that this issue is small, and when matters like this arise it is important that we sit down and resolve them.

I am very grateful that yesterday when I arrived from Kampala, I met KD Kristo and his family. I told them to consider peace going forward. If someone says something and you immediately run to court and have them imprisoned, it creates problems. Most of the time, court cases only bring hatred.

So I thank the judge for his ruling. The court hearing will start on August 4, 2026. When the court sits on the 4th, my plan is to ask the court to allow Bosmic and KD Kristo to resolve their issues outside and settle their differences in the right way."
