Concerned Staff at the Ministry of Works Appeal to Gen Museveni Over Alleged Targeted Persecution

section of staff at the Ministry of Works has appealed to President Museveni to intervene in what they describe as the targeted persecution of senior officials at the ministry.

The staff, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told this publication that a staff member identified as Isaac Wani, who claims to be a whistleblower but is himself allegedly implicated, has been misleading the State Minister for Works, Fred Byamukama, against selected officials.

A source told this publication that the entire ministry is disturbed by what they describe as targeted persecution resulting from alleged misinformation presented to the President, which reportedly led to the dismissal of six Ministry of Works officials.

The officials include Eng. Ronald Olaki, Steven Kitonsa, Rogers Kisambira, and others attached to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA).

Another source alleged that the so-called whistleblower has been moving around with people working in State House to ensure that the officials are arrested before they have an opportunity to meet the President.

According to a highly placed source in the Ministry of Works, the same so-called whistleblower was on Wednesday allegedly pressuring the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Works with names of people he wants to replace the dismissed officials.

“We are watching, but if the Minister of Works is not careful, these people will turn against him as well,” the source said.

Several attempts to obtain a comment from Mr. Wani, the alleged whistleblower, were unsuccessful, as his known phone number remained busy throughout.
