The school has appealed for calm as authorities continue with the search and urged anyone with relevant information, no matter how small, to come forward to assist in locating the student.

Authorities at Namilyango College and the family of a Senior Four student have launched a search after the learner reportedly went missing from the school premises.

In a public notice issued by the school, management identified the missing student as Mpora Raymond, confirming that he disappeared from the college and that efforts are underway to establish his whereabouts.

The school expressed deep concern over the incident and assured the student’s family that it is working closely with the Uganda Police Force and other relevant authorities to trace him.

“We express our deepest concern and pledge our support to his immediate family during this time as we strive to locate his whereabouts,” the notice reads.

Namilyango College emphasized that the safety, welfare and well-being of all learners entrusted to its care remain its highest priority, adding that investigations and search efforts are ongoing.

The school has appealed to members of the public who may have credible information about Raymond’s whereabouts to immediately report to the nearest police station or contact the designated telephone numbers: 0772 674 735, 0782 856 792, or 0784 156 335.

Earlier messages circulating on social media indicated that Raymond had been missing since the previous day and urged the public to share information that could help reunite him with his family.

The police is however still silent as far as the student’s disappearance is concerned despite the gravity of the matter.
