Liverpool has been linked with several potential winger additions in the transfer market, with PSG's Ibrahim Mbaye among the latest to emerge as a possible signing.

Former Liverpool star Sadio Mane has already outlined Ibrahim Mbaye as an "exceptional player" with plenty of potential, ahead of a possible transfer to Anfield.

Mbaye, 18, has emerged as a player of interest to several clubs this summer, as he looks set to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the final two years under contract with the European champions.

A winger with plenty of pace and quality on the ball, the youngster has been tipped to be a star for the future, even though he has yet to cement himself a place in the PSG side on a regular basis.

His displays for Senegal on the international stage have shown that potential, having been given an opportunity to shine at AFCON and the World Cup in the past year or so.

Liverpool has been thrown in the mix to sign Mbaye, after reports emerged that the winger was a potential option for the Reds heading into the final month of the transfer market.

If there were any doubts over the star, then the Reds don't have to look too far to find a good reference for his ability and potential, with former player Mane providing just that.

Speaking last year at the Africa Cup of Nations, Mane gave a glowing review of Mbaye, and outlined him as an exciting option for years to come.

“Seventeen years old and at this level, I think it’s impressive,” said the Senegal captain after a substitute appearance for the winger against DR Congo.

“He has a bright future ahead of him. We will try to help him find the right rhythm so that he can help us even more, because he is an exceptional player.”

That was later followed up by a World Cup that saw Mbaye grow in reputation, even though he wasn't a regular starter for his nation in the competition.

The PSG ace made four appearances, only one of which was in the starting lineup, scoring one goal as the team made it to the round of 32 before capitulating late in the game against Belgium to exit the competition.

In the time since, all of the focus on Mbaye has surrounded his future, as it's not just Liverpool who has been linked with a switch for the Senegalese international.

Any move from the Reds could depend on the future of Bradley Barcola, as the PSG star has emerged as a top target for Andoni Iraola's side, following his decision against signing a new contract at the club.

Whether the approach for one impacts the other remains to be seen, but either way, Liverpool could benefit from PSG and a potential exit in its forward ranks over the next few weeks.
