The 2024/25 season of the UEFA Europa League has begun, with fans still getting used to a new format.
With four additional teams and eight matches instead of six in a league phase, it means fans get to see more marquee matchups in the tournament.
The first matchday saw some exciting matchups and big wins for some historic side's, whilst others had their struggles
Here is how the table looks after one round of Europa League games.
2024/25 UEFA Europa League ladder
Dutch side Ajax are on top after matchday one thanks to their big 4-0 win at home against Besiktas.
Three second half goals paved the way for them to win in what was a statement of intent after the Dutch heavyweights had a poor year last season.
Lazio and Tottenham also recorded victories, but it wasn't smooth sailing for all big sides in the competition.
Manchester United's indifferent start of the season continued, as Erik ten Hag was held to a draw by the side he captained as a player FC Twente.
Roma, Real Sociedad and Nice were also forced to split the points in their opening matches, whilst Porto fell to a 2-1 defeat against Belgian side Anderlecht.
