Sacrifice behind the scenes: How Ghetto Kids reached the World Cup

Triplets Ghetto Kids manager Dauda Kavuma has revealed the remarkable sacrifice made by dancer Wembly Mo to help the group travel to the United States for their FIFA World Cup halftime show performance alongside global music stars Shakira and Burna Boy.

Speaking after the group’s return to Uganda, Kavuma shared that they faced financial challenges despite receiving the prestigious invitation.

Unsure of how they would raise the money needed for air tickets, he turned to Wembly Mo, who responded with an extraordinary act of generosity.

I told him that I had no idea what to do after getting the invitation and he said he didn’t have money but gave me his car to sell it, and he wasn’t even part of us who went.

The manager praised Wembly Mo for his selflessness, saying the dancer has quietly helped many people over the years without receiving the recognition he deserves.

Kavuma said he chose to publicly acknowledge Wembly’s sacrifice, describing it as one of the key reasons the Ghetto Kids were able to seize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

The Ghetto Kids have continued to raise Uganda’s flag on the international stage, performing alongside some of the world’s biggest entertainers.
