Deputy RDCs Mwanjuzi and Kagenyi Survive Road Crash on Way to Colleague’s Burial
GOMBA, Uganda — Mityana Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Prossy Mwanjuzi and Kawempe Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner (RCC), Kagenyi Lukka escaped without serious injuries after the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in a road accident in Kirasi, Maddu, Gomba District, on Thursday 6th August, 2026.
The two officials were travelling to Sembabule District to attend the burial of the late Mark Baingana, the Deputy RCC for Makindye Division, when one of the vehicle’s tyres reportedly burst, causing the driver to lose control.

Fortunately, both officials escaped unharmed.
As a precautionary measure, Ms. Mwanjuzi and Mr. Kagenyi were taken to Maddu Health Centre for medical examination. They were later confirmed to have sustained no serious injuries.

The late Baingana is being laid to rest today in Sembabule District, where family members, friends, colleagues and government officials have gathered to pay their final respects.
