Dr Kiiza Besigye Undergoes An Operation After Enduring 13 Years Of Pain


Firebrand politician Dr Kiiza Besigye has reportedly undergone an operation on his right hand after enduring great pain on his right hand for 13 years. Besigye who is currently in the US had this pain brought to an end by the surgeons abroad.
In the photos shared on his socials, Besigye is seen with a bandaged right hand but his hand man and lawyer Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago confirmed that it’s because of an operation which he underwent while in the US.

According to Lukwago, Besigye’s right hand has been aching with complications for some time as a result of a rubber bullet aimed at him in the aftermath of the 2011 general elections.

While in the United States, Besigye linked up with his family (Wife Winnie Byanyima and son Besigye Anselm) in New York early this week.

Since crossing from NRM to the opposition particularly the Forum for Democratic Change and now to the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) which his allies of Katonga want to register ahead of the 2026 general elections. Besigye has sustained several life threatening challenges including one which nearly costed his eyes in 2011.
