Property Worth Millions Destroyed as Fire Guts Lagatos Bar in Kiwatule

A fire outbreak at Lagatos Bar in Kiwatule on 11 August 2026 destroyed property worth millions of shillings, police said, but no fatalities or injuries were reported.

The blaze broke out at about 2:00pm in Kazinga Zone, Kiwatule Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala, and is believed to have been sparked by welding work during renovation.

ASP Luke Owoyesigyire said police are still investigating the incident. “Police at Kira Road are investigating a fire outbreak that occurred on 11 August 2026 at around 2:00pm at Lagatos Bar, located in Kazinga Zone, Kiwatule Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala,” he said.

Police Fire Prevention and Rescue Services extinguished the fire, with support from UEDCL, which disconnected power to prevent further danger.
