Lubaga Residents Praise Youth Wealth Creation Programme for Boosting Small Businesses

More than 600 residents in Lubaga Municipality have received support under the Presidential Youth Wealth Creation Programme, with beneficiaries saying the assistance has helped expand businesses and improve household incomes.

Residents of Lubaga Division who have benefited from the Presidential Youth Wealth Creation Programme have praised the initiative for helping them expand their businesses and improve household incomes.

The beneficiaries, including chapati makers, potato-chip vendors and other small-scale entrepreneurs, received various forms of support, including start-up capital and business equipment.

Through the State House Comptroller, Jane Barekye, more than 600 people in Lubaga Municipality have so far received different forms of support intended to help them establish or expand their businesses.

During a visit to assess the progress of beneficiaries in Lubaga, programme coordinator Faizal Ndase said he was pleased to find that many of those who had received support were using it to grow their enterprises.

“I am happy to see that the people who received support have put it to good use and that their businesses are growing,” Ndase said.

The beneficiaries thanked President Yoweri Museveni and Barekye for supporting their businesses, saying the assistance had improved their ability to earn a living and provide for their families.

“We thank President Museveni and Jane Barekye for supporting us. The assistance has helped us improve our businesses and provide better lives for our families,” one beneficiary said.

Ndase also thanked residents for supporting the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in the recently concluded elections and assured them that the President would continue supporting their economic empowerment.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the support responsibly, grow their businesses and create employment opportunities for other members of the community.
