“Anyone Who Thinks They Can Dislodge Museveni With US Help Is Cooked” – Rasta Warns Bobi Wine
Political commentator Rasta has sent a strong message to opposition leader Bobi Wine, arguing that anyone who believes the United States can help remove President Yoweri Museveni from power is mistaken.
“Anyone who thinks they can dislodge Museveni with the help of the US is cooked,” Rasta said.He argued that political change in Uganda must be driven by Ugandans themselves, urging opposition leaders to focus on building strong grassroots support rather than relying on foreign backing.
The remarks come amid ongoing debate over the role of international actors in Uganda’s politics and whether foreign pressure can influence leadership changes.Bobi Wine, the National Unity Platform (NUP) leader, has remained one of Museveni’s strongest political challengers, particularly among young Ugandans.
Rasta maintained that foreign governments may offer diplomatic support or express concerns, but cannot ultimately decide who leads Uganda. His comments have sparked debate, with some agreeing that grassroots support is key to political success, while others argue that international pressure can influence democratic reforms.President Museveni has ruled Uganda since 1986 and remains a dominant force in the country’s political landscape.
