RIP!! Five Dead as Taxi Crashes Head-On With Tractor on Kiziranfumbi-Kabale Road

Five people have been killed in a deadly road accident along the Kiziranfumbi-Kabale Road in Kikuube District.The crash occurred at around 8:30pm on Wednesday in Kisambu Cell when a Toyota Drone taxi, registration number UA 535BL, travelling from Kiziranfumbi towards Kabale collided head-on with a tractor coming from the opposite direction.

The victims—four men and one woman—died instantly in the crash.Albertine Regional Police spokesperson SP Hakiza Julius Allan confirmed the incident, saying the tractor driver fled the scene immediately after the accident and remains at large.Police visited the scene, collected evidence and statements, and recovered the damaged taxi.

The bodies were taken to Kikuube Health Centre IV mortuary for postmortem examinations.Preliminary findings point to reckless driving as a possible cause of the crash.Police have launched investigations and appealed to anyone with information about the tractor or its driver to come forward.Authorities have urged motorists to avoid speeding and other dangerous driving practices, particularly at night.
