Vinka Reveals How Husband Nelly Witta’s Election Loss Broke Her Heart

Swangz Avenue singer Vinka, real name Veronica Lugya, has opened up about how hard her husband Nelson Witta’s loss in the recent elections broke her.

Nelson Witta was nominated by the Electoral Commission (EC) to contest for the Isingiro West County seat as an independent candidate in the recently concluded general elections. He, however, lost the election.

Responding to how she felt about the loss during her recent interview, Vinka revealed that it was a tough time for her, to the point that she broke down and cried after the results were announced.

Rather than focusing on the loss, Vinka noted that they were still optimistic about achieving their dream one day. She highlighted Witta’s improvement in the political scene, noting that it was the first time he had passed the primaries after many failed attempts for the same seat.

“My man is my favorite politician and when he lost the election, I felt so bad; so bad it broke my heart so much. I cried so much but we are very optimistic. Life has to go on and we are still young. Why would he quit?

What people do not understand is that it was the very first time that he got to that level of contesting for the Member of Parliament post. He had never got that far; the last time he stopped at the primaries. This time was the very first time to get there but people just talk because they do not know. But it is okay; they do not have to know,” she said.
