Single Mother Claims Minister Justine Nameere Promised Job and Business Support After Shs350,000 Handout, Then Dumped Her

A video circulating on social media has sparked debate in Uganda after a single mother claimed that Masaka City Woman Member of Parliament and State Minister Justine Nameere gave her Shs350,000 and promised additional support, including a job and business capital.

According to the woman, whose identity was not independently established from the available information, she met Nameere at the legislator’s office, where the minister reportedly asked her about her daily expenditure and the challenges she was facing as a single mother.

The woman claims that after listening to her circumstances, Nameere gave her Shs350,000. She further alleges that the minister advised her to leave her current job, promising to help her secure another source of employment and provide business capital by the end of the month.

However, the woman says the promised assistance did not materialise.

She claims that after waiting for the support, she attempted to contact the person whose number she had been given in connection with the promised assistance. According to her account, the number was eventually blocked, leaving her unable to establish whether the promised job or business support would be provided.
