MP Mubangizi Gives Buweekula Shs2m Ahead of Buddu Clash

Buweekula South MP and club patron Dedan Mubangizi has given Buweekula FC Shs2 million to help meet transport costs as the team travels to face Buddu FC in the Massaza Cup.

Buweekula South Member of Parliament and Buweekula FC patron Dedan Mubangizi has contributed Shs2 million to help the team meet transport costs ahead of its crucial Massaza Cup encounter against Buddu.

Buweekula will travel to Kitovu Arena in Masaka City on Sunday, August 23, 2026, to face Buddu in another fixture in their Massaza Cup campaign.

Mubangizi has on several occasions supported the team when it faces financial challenges, particularly the cost of transport for away matches.

The latest contribution has been welcomed by the club’s executive committee, which said it would ease the financial pressure on the team as it prepares for the match.

Buweekula chairperson Richard Kassumba thanked Mubangizi for his continued support, describing him as a dependable patron who has consistently stood with the team during difficult moments.

“As the executive committee of Buweekula, we appreciate our patron, Hon. Dedan Mubangizi, for once again coming to the rescue of the team with Shs2 million. His support, especially when we have challenges with transport, means a lot to the players and the entire Buweekula community,” Kassumba said.

Mubangizi pledged to continue supporting the team whenever the need arises, saying he believes in the players and the future of Buweekula football.

“As your patron, I want to assure you that I will continue supporting Buweekula FC whenever there is a need. I believe in this team, its players and the future of Buweekula football. We shall continue working together to ensure the team gets the support it needs,” Mubangizi said.

He also praised the players for their performance this season, noting that they have collected 11 points despite challenges, including difficulties in meeting transportation costs.

“I commend our players for the good performance they have shown this season. Collecting 11 points amidst the challenges the team has faced is not an easy achievement. I encourage them to remain focused, disciplined and determined because we believe they can achieve even more,” Mubangizi said.

The team will now turn its attention to the Buddu encounter as it seeks maximum points to strengthen its Massaza Cup campaign.

Buweekula supporters are expected to rally behind the team as it travels to Kitovu Arena, with the club calling for continued support both on and off the pitch.
