Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has said government is set to rehabilitate 120 traditional schools under a programme funded by the World Bank.

‎‎Nabbanja made the revelation during plenary on Thursday while responding to Bugahya County MP Pius Wakabi, who asked when government would rehabilitate traditional schools whose infrastructure has deteriorated.

‎Wakabi said government has often blamed schools for challenges in the education sector, yet many traditional schools require major rehabilitation.

‎He specifically raised concern about the condition of Kabalega Secondary School.

‎‎Nabbanja said government had secured funding from the World Bank and that the rehabilitation programme was being prepared, with 120 traditional schools expected to be handled in the initial phase.

‎She said Kabalega Secondary School would also be covered under the programme.
