The territorial police in Alebtong District have opened an investigation into the sudden deaths of two people: Adiyo Anna, a 46-year-old woman, and Ojobi Abel, a 51-year-old man, who was found unconscious. The incident occurred on November 4th, 2024, at an unspecified time in Oumo Village, Awori Parish, Abako Sub-County, Alebtong District.
The matter was reported to the police around 09:00 hours by Obong Alex, a 50-year-old area LC1 chairperson of the same village. According to reports, on November 4th, 2024, at around 09:00 hours, Apio Janet went to Obong Alex, the LC1 chairperson of Oumo Village, to report that her sister, Adiyo Anna, had not opened her hotel room door, which remained locked.
Police spokesperson for the North Kyoga Region, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, stated that the LC1, along with community members, broke into the door and found Adiyo Anna lying face-up, suspected to be dead. Ojobi Abel was found lying next to her, unconscious.

Police from Alebtong CPS (Central Police Station) responded to the scene, where they removed both the deceased and the unconscious victim. A case of sudden death has been registered at Alebtong CPS. The scene was visited by a team of police officers, led by the District Police Commander (DPC), who documented the crime scene and recorded relevant statements from witnesses.
The bodies were transferred to Alebtong Health Center IV, where a postmortem examination is pending. Meanwhile, Ojobi Abel is receiving treatment at the same facility.
A charcoal stove was recovered from the deceased’s home, with beans still cooking on it. Preliminary findings suggest that there was no ventilation in the house, and the room was filled with numerous items. Authorities are awaiting the postmortem report to determine the exact cause of death.
The police have called for calm among the relatives and community members as investigations continue.
