Minister Balaam's Sad Reaction as Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor Nyanjura's Brother is Shot Dead

Tragedy struck Kampala on Thursday as Tugume Albert Cook, brother to Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor Doreen Nyanjura, was shot dead in Ntinda during what is reported to be a mobile money robbery.
According to eyewitnesses, unknown gunmen ambushed Tugume in Ntinda, where shots were fired, resulting in his untimely death.
Authorities are yet to confirm details of the robbery and the subsequent investigation into the assailants.
In a heartfelt statement, Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs Balaam Ateenyi expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.
Minister Ateenyi has called on law enforcement agencies to act swiftly in bringing the culprits to justice.
“My heart goes out to the family and loved ones of the innocent hustler tragically taken from us. It’s devastating to see lives lost to senseless violence. Where is our world headed?.We must collectively condemn gun violence and criminality, working towards a safer society,” he added.
The minister further expressed his sympathies to Doreen Nyanjura for losing her brother.
"May the deceased's soul rest in peace and may their legacy of hard work and resilience inspire us to create positive change. My sister Doreen Nyanjura sorry for losing your beloved brother in this tragedy incidence. Let's unite against violence and protect our communities," he said.
