Gen. Andrew Gutti in Critical Condition After Nakasongola Accident
Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti, the former Chairman of the Court Martial, has been hospitalized in critical condition following an accident in Nakasongola. He was traveling with Lt. Gen. James Nakibus Lakara and others when the incident occurred. The group was on their way to meet Gen. Salim Saleh, a Senior Presidential Advisor on Defence and Security.
The news was confirmed by Brig. Gen. Felix Kulaigye, the spokesperson for the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF), who stated that Gen. Gutti's condition remains serious. However, other individuals involved in the accident were reported to be unharmed.
Sources close to the security forces revealed that the group was en route to meet Gen. Salim Saleh when the accident took place. Details about the exact cause of the crash are yet to be fully disclosed as investigations are ongoing.
This incident comes shortly after other high-ranking military officials have faced health challenges, including the hospitalization of Major General Pecos Kutesa in Nairobi and the admission of Maj. Gen. Levi Karuhanga, the Chairman of the General Court Martial, into a local hospital.
