Museveni on Spot as Widow of Late UPDF General Desperately Cries Out for Help

Maria Mosiku, who says she is one of the widows of the late Maj Gen James Kazini, is asking President Museveni and the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) to help her. She says she is struggling to take care of Kazini’s three children and needs a place to stay and school fees for them.

Maj Gen Kazini was a top military officer who once led the UPDF as Army Commander. He was killed in 2009 under unclear circumstances. His mistress, Lydia Draru, was later found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 14 years in prison.

Mosiku says life has become very difficult because she cannot afford rent or school fees for the children, two boys and a girl. She is now asking the government and the army to step in and support them.

Maj Gen Kazini played a big role in the army, including leading an attack in Kaya, South Sudan, where over 200 Sudanese soldiers were killed, and 150 were captured. Many people still remember his service, and Mosiku hopes that the government will not forget his family.
