Bobi Wine Releases Video of Security Raid on NUP Headquarters

ational Unity Platform (NUP) leader Robert Kyagulanyi, known as Bobi Wine, has shared video footage showing security forces raiding the party’s headquarters. The footage, posted on his X account, challenges official statements and raises concerns about the conduct of security officers.

Bobi Wine stated that during the raid, which took place last weekend, security personnel disconnected CCTV cameras and internet services at the NUP offices.

They also seized Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and cut off electricity, preventing real-time documentation. Journalists were barred from accessing the scene, limiting independent reporting.

Despite the removal of recordings, Bobi Wine said NUP’s IT team managed to recover some footage. The video shows security officers in both uniforms and plain clothes taking part in the operation.

Some were dressed in military police, Special Forces Command (SFC), Joint Anti-Terrorism Taskforce (JAT), Counter-Terrorism (CT), Flying Squad, and regular police uniforms.

He questioned why SFC, a unit responsible for the president’s security, was involved in a raid on a political party office. Bobi Wine also stated that NUP would continue documenting and identifying those responsible for such actions.
