Security Seen Escorting Bobi Wine As He Tours Kawempe North Ahead Of Mini Polls

National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi, better known as Bobi Wine, has arrived in Kawempe North to kick off the party's campaign for the upcoming parliamentary by-election.
Bobi Wine, who is a popular political figure in Uganda, was joined by other NUP leaders and party members as they prepare to support the NUP candidate for the Kawempe North MP seat, Mr. Nalukoola.
The seat became vacant after the death of the former MP, Honorable Mohammad Ssegirinya.
The campaign event saw a large crowd, with several police officers seen providing security.
The officers were there to ensure the safety of the people and maintain order during the event.
It is common for political events in Uganda to have heavy police presence, especially when influential leaders like Bobi Wine are involved.
This was also the case as the crowd gathered to listen to the NUP leaders.
The Kawempe North seat had been held by Honorable Mohammad Ssegirinya, who passed away after a long battle with skin cancer.
His death shocked many Ugandans, and it left a gap in the parliamentary seat.
Many leaders, especially from the NUP, expressed their condolences to Ssegirinya's family, and the party made it clear that they believed the government under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni was responsible for his death.
The NUP claimed that Ssegirinya had asked to be released on bail to seek medical treatment but was denied this request, which they argued contributed to his death.
The loss of Honorable Ssegirinya has created an opportunity for NUP to secure the seat in the upcoming by-election.
The party has been working hard to ensure that their candidate, Mr. Nalukoola, wins the seat and continues the work of the late MP.
Bobi Wine and other NUP leaders are determined to campaign strongly in the region and ensure a victory for their candidate.
