Police officer steals Colleague's Money, Abandons A Gun Inside His House, Goes Into Hiding

Police Detectives attached to Marine Unit in Katosi detach are looking for one of their colleagues over allegations stealing money from a colleague before dumping his gun inside his house and going into hiding.

The wanted police officer has been identified as No 65545 PC Justus Kanyesigye attached to Marine Unit while the complainant has been identified as No 59406 PC Dorcus Twesigye also attached to the Marine Unit.

According to our sources, PC Justus Kanyesigye came and requested PC Dorcus Twesigye for her phone so that he does betting using her phone but PC Dorcus refused and told him that her phone's Internet was not good for doing betting activities.

Our sources added that PC Justus Kanyesigye then changed his mind and asked Dorcus to send some little money on his phone so that he can use his own phone for betting activities and indeed Dorcus sent him shs 3000 on his phone. However in the process of sending him money, PC Justus Kanyesigye saw Dorcus's phone password.

Our sources added that after a while, PC Justus Kanyesigye came back and asked Dorcus to give him her phone so that he can make a call to one of his friends, and again Dorcus informed him that the phone had no battery but Justus insisted and told her, that he would take for charging first at his house a thing that Dorcus accepted and gave him the phone. 

Our source further revealed that after getting a phone, PC Justus went to his house, withdrew shs 760000 from it and immediately locked his where his gun is and went outside the barracks. PC Dorcus Twesigye later reported the case at katose police station of theft vide SD Ref 21/08/03/2025.

 In her statement, Dorcus said that after the suspect had withdrawn all the money, she started calling him several times to bring her phone but all in vain. Police detectives later went and broke his house, found the victim's phone on his bed and all withdrawal messages were still inside the phone.

Detectives also removed a police gun which he had also abandoned before escaping from the barracks. Our sources added that they have since started a man hunt for the Officer who is also well known for his weird behaviors.

Police appealed to whoever sees PC Justus Kanyesigye in their areas of operations and should arrest him and inform Katosi police station for further management.
