Joel Ssenyonyi Uncovers an Explosive Ongoing Rigging Scandal in Kawempe North By-election

A major election scandal has been exposed in the Kawempe North by-election after the Leader of Opposition (LoP) Joel Ssenyonyi and National Unity Platform (NUP) Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya led a team that busted a group of individuals allegedly rigging votes ahead of the polls.

According to Leader of the Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi, the team uncovered a house in Nameere where ballot papers were being pre-ticked in favor of one candidate.

“We have caught them red-handed, engaging in blatant election malpractice,” he said.

“This level of shamelessness is unacceptable. We cannot allow our democratic process to be hijacked like this.” he added.

Eyewitnesses report that upon arrival, Ssenyonyi and his team were met with resistance from armed individuals suspected to be security operatives guarding the premises.

However, they managed to expose the operation and alerted the public about the ongoing malpractice.

The discovery has sent shockwaves through Kawempe North, with NUP supporters and other opposition groups condemning what they call a well-orchestrated plan to manipulate the election results.

NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya stated that the incident is proof of a wider scheme by the ruling regime to undermine free and fair elections in Uganda.

“We demand immediate action from the Electoral Commission,” Rubongoya said.

“This is outright fraud, and those involved must face the law.” he added.

The revelation has fueled tension in Kawempe North, where security forces have been heavily deployed ahead of the election.

Meanwhile, NUP leaders have vowed to remain vigilant to prevent further rigging attempts, urging their supporters to turn out in large numbers and protect their votes.
