"I first went there when I was 12... 13 years old, and after so many years I wanted to give back to it because it had given me so much." Harry continued: "The vast open space, the cultures, the communities, the people, the wildlife, just the freedom was a huge piece of why I loved Africa so much."

The Duke of Sussex then spoke about his mother's charity work. He said: "My mother had a strong focus on HIV and AIDS but also of the younger generation because it's their futures that are being stolen from them.

"And at the heart of Sentebale, what we've always believed is that every single young person should have a chance at a better future." Following his appearance at the Sentebale event, Harry took part in a charity polo match on Friday alongside longtime pal Nacho Figueras.

Princess Diana was well-known for her charity work

Sentebale supports children in Lesotho and Botswana and was established in 2006. Just last year, Harry made a very generous donation to the charity, giving $1.5million (£1.2million).

Sentebale grew by more than 50 percent last year after raising $5.5million (£4.5million). Harry's financial documents show he made the huge donation, which the charity says will be used to "rebuild our programmes following Covid-19 and improve the quality and reach of our work".
