Kenya: Another Woman Forced to Throw Soil in Grave, Video Causes Uproar

A video of a grieving woman being forced to throw soil into a grave has shocked many Kenyans. The woman, who was crying uncontrollably, refused to take part in the burial ritual, but some mourners insisted she do it.

This incident reminded Kenyans of Mellen Mogaka, another widow who was forced to throw soil on her husband’s grave. In her case, she was even pushed closer to the grave despite her resistance.

Many Kenyans online have condemned these actions, saying no one should be forced to follow burial customs against their will. Some have called for change, arguing that grieving families should be allowed to mourn in peace without pressure from cultural traditions.
