Buganda Kingdom, Next Media Strike Strategic Partnership for Development and Environmental Conservation

The Buganda Kingdom has announced a new strategic partnership with Next Media Service, the parent company of NBS TV, aimed at driving environmental conservation and socio-economic development across Buganda and Uganda.
The announcement followed a high-level meeting between Next Media Group CEO Kin Kariisa and the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, held on Thursday afternoon at Bulange, Mengo.
Speaking to the press after a closed-door meeting, Dr. Kariisa emphasized the shared vision between the media group and the Kingdom.
“We are proud to work hand-in-hand with the Buganda Kingdom to promote environmental conservation,” said Dr. Kariisa.
“This partnership is about catalysing collective growth and empowering our people socially and economically across the country.”
Katikkiro Mayiga welcomed the collaboration, calling it timely and essential for the Kingdom’s aspirations.
“With partners like Next Media, we can reclaim and strengthen our role of leading empowered and social – economically transformed people,” said Mayiga.
“This cooperation is not just for Buganda—it is for the entire country.”
He further highlighted the vital role media plays in shaping public discourse and accelerating progress.
“The media is one of the most powerful tools for transformation. Next Media has proven its commitment to disseminating information across the country and the globe at large,” Mayiga noted.
The partnership will focus on using media to support key initiatives in environmental awareness, culture, and inclusive development, with both parties expressing a strong commitment to long-term collaboration.
