“It Won't Even Take us A Day To Take Over Kisangani, I Just Need Mzee’s Permission" - Gen Muhoozi

Ugandan General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has made a strong and surprising statement. He said, “It would take us one day to take over Kisangani. I just need Mzee’s permission.”
These words have caught the attention of many people in East and Central Africa.
Muhoozi is the son of Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni.
He is also a top commander in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
When he says “Mzee,” he is referring to his father, President Museveni.
Kisangani is a large city in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
It is known for its rich history and position along the Congo River. In the past, Ugandan and Rwandan troops fought in and around Kisangani during the Congo wars.
That history is still fresh in the minds of many Congolese people.
Muhoozi’s words have brought concern, especially from the DRC.
Some people see it as a threat. Others say he may be speaking to gain attention or make a political point. Either way, the statement has raised eyebrows.
One Congolese citizen said, “We don’t want any more war. Let the General focus on peace, not threats.”
A Ugandan political observer, who asked not to be named, said, “Muhoozi likes to speak in a way that shakes things up.
But this kind of talk can cause trouble if not taken carefully.”
Some people believe Muhoozi is preparing for future leadership.
His recent activities and public statements suggest he may want to follow in his father’s footsteps.
Bold remarks like this could be part of his political plan.
However, others think his words were careless. A human rights activist from Goma said, “Statements like these can increase tensions in the region.
We must respect borders and promote peace.”
So far, there has been no official response from the DRC government. Uganda has also not released a formal statement.
As the region watches closely, many hope leaders will choose dialogue over conflict.
History has shown that war brings suffering. It is better to build friendship and cooperation among neighbors
