Man Utd transfer news: Rasmus Hojlund offered escape route as £60m move prepared

Manchester United are heading towards a huge summer transfer window but the amount of cash available to Ruben Amorim will depend on if his side win the Europa League
Rasmus Hojlund's Manchester United career is up in the air
Like their new £2billion stadium, Manchester United are going under construction. On course to finish a lowly 14th in the Premier League table, by far their worst top-flight season in modern history, United need reinforcements to avoid another humiliating campaign next time out.
Ruben Amorim is the man tasked with bringing the glory days back to Old Trafford and that could start by winning the Europa League. Not only would United taste silverware for the third successive season - something that they've not achieved since the Sir Alex Ferguson era - it'd be a major boost to their finances.
That's because victory in Bilbao on May 21 - although they've still got to navigate their semi-final second leg - would secure Champions League football next term. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has estimated that playing in Europe's elite competition would worth between £80million and £100m.
The Red Devils are having to keep the pursue strings tight in their current predicament, with Ratcliffe's cost-cutting measures a sign of empty the piggy bank is. But selling the players that they want rid of plus Champions League football would shift the narrative.
Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.

Juventus firm up interest in Hojulund
Rasmus Hojlund could be offered an escape route out of Manchester United after Juventus decided to pursue a move for the Danish striker. Hojlund, who cost United £72m in 2023, has endured another difficult season with the Red Devils and Ruben Amorim wouldn't stand his way if he signalled his desire to leave.
Juve are keen to sign the 22-year-old as part of their own attacking overhaul, with Dusan Vlahovic and Randal Kolo Muani expected to depart. Calciomercato report that Juventus' sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has taken the first steps towards a deal for Hojlund, having initially been keen on fellow United striker Joshua Zirkzee before his upturn in form and subsequent injury.

Man Utd ready to make £60m Mbuemo move
Manchester United are ready to join the race for £60m-rated Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo. United watched Mbeumo, 25, closely on Sunday, as Brentford beat the Red Devils 4-3.
The Bees winger wasn't able to add to his tally of 18 goals and six assists in the Premier League this season, although he still posed a threat. According to the Telegraph, United want to sign both Mbeumo and Wolves forward Matheus Cunha in a £125m double deal.

Amorim urged to sign Vardy
Ruben Amorim has been told to make a shock move for Jamie Vardy, who'll leave Leicester this summer. Vardy, 38, has attracted interest from Championship clubs but former Premier League midfielder Jamie O'Hara reckons that Manchester United could do worse.
"I think he can still do a job at an established Premier League club," O'Hara told Sky Sports. "Couldn't he do a job at Man United? How many goals has Hojlund got? You can't tell me he still can’t do a job in the Premier League. As a free transfer, I think he's a great signing to add to your squad."
